Permission: Anonymous User

Steps:

  1. Visit SatNOGS DB

  2. On the side menu, click on All Suggestions

  3. At the top of the page, make sure that Satellites option is selected (blue-highlighted), if not click on it to display the Satellites panel

  4. Satellite suggestions table should be visible

  5. For a detailed view of a suggestion click on the right arrow of the Details column

Add suggestion for existing satellite

Steps:

  4. Select Edit <satellite_name> option

  5. "New Suggestion" page with filled satellite entry form should load, for a detailed explanation of each field check the form fields section

  6. After filling the form with the necessary info, click on Update button

  7. You should be re-directed to "Suggestions" page of the satellite and receive a popup confirmation message of success

Add suggestion for satellite based on existing one

Permission: Logged-in User

  1. Visit SatNOGS DB

  2. Go to satellite page

  3. At the top of the page, if the satellite has suggestions then Suggestions option will be visible, click on it to display the Suggestions panel

  4. Go to the detailed view of the suggestion you want to use as base by clicking on the right arrow of the Details column in the suggestions table

  5. At the top left of the page click on Actions menu

  6. Select Add to Suggestion if the base suggestion belongs to other user or Modify Suggestion option if the base suggestion belongs to you

  7. "New Suggestion" page with filled satellite entry form should load, for a detailed explanation of each field check the form fields section

  8. After filling the form with the necessary info, click on Update or Modify button depending on who owns the base suggestion.

  9. You should be re-directed to "Suggestions" page of the satellite and receive a popup confirmation message of success

Edit/Remove

Edit satellite suggestion

Permission: Logged-in User, Suggestion Owner

  1. Visit SatNOGS DB

  2. Find and view the suggestion

  3. At the top left of the page click on Actions menu

  4. Select "Modify Suggestion" option

  5. "Modify Suggestion" page with filled satellite entry form should load, after making necessary changes, click on Modify button

  6. You should be re-directed to "Suggestions" page of the satellite and receive a popup confirmation message of success

Remove satellite suggestion

Permission: Logged-in User, Suggestion Owner

  1. Visit SatNOGS DB

  2. Find and view the suggestion

  3. At the top left of the page click on Actions menu

  4. Select "Remove Suggestion" option

  5. "Confirm Removal" popup should show up, click on Remove button

  6. You should be re-directed to "All Suggestions" page and receive a popup confirmation message of success

Review

Review satellite suggestion

Permission: Logged-in User, Satellite Reviewer

  1. Visit SatNOGS DB

  2. Find and view the suggestion

  3. Inspect and review the suggestion and verify details and changes against the given citation

  4. At the top left of the page click on Actions menu

  5. Select "Review Suggestion" option

  6. "Review Suggestion" popup should show up, select verdict (Approve/Reject), add review message to inform suggestion owner and click on Submit button

  7. You should be re-directed to "All Suggestions" page and receive a popup confirmation message of success
